Research Student/International Research Student/Graduate Credited Auditor

Research Students (Kenkyusei) are those who conduct research on a specific research topic, under the guidance of an academic adviser.

International students cannot apply for the status of research students, but can apply to become International Research Students (Gaikokujin Kenkyusei).

Graduate Credited Auditors (Kamokutorishusei), who are not admitted to the University of Tsukuba, are permitted to take graduate level courses. The results from examinations taken throughout a semester or final examinations may be recognized as earned credits.

Obtaining Application Package

To obtain an application package by mail within Japan, applicants are required to send a stamped (140 yen) self-addressed envelope (240×330mm) and a note clearly stating the desired application form and providing a contact address. The above items should be placed in a large envelope and sent to the address given below. Prior consultation with the following division is recommended.

Obtaining Application Package

To obtain an application package by post, please provide us with the following information by email or by post.

We will send the applicant an invoice for postage charges together with the application package. Please send Japanese stamps or International Reply Coupons in the amount of the invoice to the International Student Center.

Application packages are available around the end of May.
