LIS English Program

LIS English program is designed for international students who pursue a career of information professionals in global context. Graduate School of Library, Information and Media Studies at the University of Tsukuba is the first and only institution in Japan that offers a full-time, two years master’s degree as an English Master's program and three years doctoral degree as English doctoral program in Library and Information Science.

Yuji Demura (Supervisor: Assistant Prof. Makoto Fujisawa, Associate Prof. Masahiko Mikawa), Assistant Prof. Makoto Fujisawa, and Associate Prof. Masahiko Mikawa received IIEEJ Distinguished Paper Award. The title is "Hair Deformation Simulation Based on Internal Chemical Bonds." [LINK]

Daisuke Aritomo (Supervisor: Prof. Atsuyuki Morishima), Associate Prof. Chiemi Watanabe (Tsukuba University of Technology), Assistant Prof. Masaki Matsubara and Prof. Atsuyuki Morishima received a best paper award in iiWAS2019. The title is "A Privacy-Preserving Similarity Search Scheme over Encrypted Word Embeddings."


Assoiciate Prof. Yohei Seki received an Award for Development of International Standard for issueing ISO/IEC 30146: 2019 Information technology - Smart City ICT Indicators.


Hibiki Miyazawa (Supervisor: Prof. Yuzuru Hiraga) won the second place and an audience award in the second student presentation competition of the Piano Teachers' National Association of Japan. [LINK]
