On July 10-11, a delegation from the School of Information Management, Wuhan University, China, visited institute of Library, Information and Media Science.

A delegation (5 faculty members and 8 students) from the School of Information Management, Wuhan University, China, visited the University of Tsukuba and conducted a laboratory visit, FD workshop, and joint student workshop.

On Monday, July 10, the FD workshop "Education, Research, and Strategies of Wuhan University School of Information Management " was held jointly by institute of Library, Information and Media Science and Master’s and Doctoral Program in Informatics.

At the workshop, Professor Lihong Zhou, Vice Dean of the School of Information Management at Wuhan University, gave a lecture on the education and research activities of the School of Information Management, which is one of China's top educational and research institutions in the field of library and information science and has gained international reputation through the World University Ranking.

Following the FD workshop, a heads meeting was held to discuss the possibility of collaboration in research and education between Wuhan University and University of Tsukuba, and actively exchanged opinions on joint research and joint graduate school concepts. As a result, we agreed to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for research and educational cooperation in the future.

On Tuesday, July 11, we held a joint workshop with faculty and students of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University, where international research exchanges were held between Japanese and Chinese faculty and students on a variety of topics including AI technology, social robotics, digital culture, and manga culture etc.

This visit is expected to promote international research and educational cooperation between institute of Library, Information and Media Science and related educational organizations and the School of Information Management at Wuhan University.
