Human Information Interaction
YANG CHI LAN (Associate Professor) : Intelligent interface; computer-mediated communication, computer-supported cooperative work, human-centered computing
Our lab investigates how emerging technologies influence self-expression, interpersonal communication, and social relationships. Grounded in human–computer interaction (HCI), computer-mediated communication (CMC), and computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), we integrate perspectives from psychology, communication, and information science to study how people interact through intelligent systems. We examine how the design features of communication technologies, such as messengers, video calls, and AI interfaces, influence interpersonal relationships and social interactions across the workplace and intimate relationships. Through system implementation and user needs finding, we aim to develop sociotechnical systems that support meaningful interaction at both the individual and interpersonal levels in the digital society.
